President/Founder
Jess Zorge

Jess volunteers her time publicly speaking to audiences about the rescue and provides medical/hospice visits to wonderful patients and their families. Jess is happiest spending quality time with Harper and Matt, hanging out with their many pets, and doing yoga. Jess and Harper are both foodies and love visiting new restaurants together, watching healthy birds in nature, and having dance parties in their kitchen.

Volunteer
Matthew Lame
Matt has worked with animals for almost 30 years.
His passion has helped him not only develop bonds with the animals but also connect with others with the same passion.

Matt is always looking for ways to enrich the animals' lives he is fortunate to cross paths with and make sure they’ve always gotten the care they deserve, unconditionally.
He is also a jack of all trades! Matt helps with all aspects of the rescue.
Whether rescuing animals, transporting, assisting with exams, cleaning or repairing, he always does it with a smile!

Secretary
Danielle Murr
Danielle began fostering pregnant cats in 2009, which led to the development of a unique skill set in caring for orphaned mammal neonates, which she specializes in to this day.
Her passion for animal welfare grew over the years, leading her to establish and run her own small animal rescue, Blue’s Bridge.
In addition to her work in rescue, she spent two decades in Boston-area radio before transitioning to a life of adventure, guiding travelers to beautiful destinations around the world.
Now, she balances her love for animals and travel, helping both people and pets find their way home.

Treasurer
John Masiello
John is a lifelong Shrewsbury resident and animal lover! He is the owner of Masiello Construction. John has helped by donating his time and resources to is our go-to person!

John played a major role in helping to get the rescue up and running! He drove to Pennsylvania to pick up the large raptor enclosure and carefully transported it back to Massachusetts.
John also volunteered his company's services and constructed the enclosure. He is true an animal lover at heart and enjoys watching hummingbirds at his feeders.

Volunteer / Assistant
Harper
Harper is Jess’s fantastic daughter! She is a huge help here at the rescue!
She has been raised around animals her entire life and is passionate about animal welfare.
Harper is able to jump into action and Jess is thankful that Harper is always willing to change plans on a moment's notice to rescue an animal!
Jess and Harper have shared hundreds of missions together! Harper can be found sorting and preparing diets, performing husbandry duties (not her favorite!), and helping with many daily tasks.

Educational Ambassador
Blue
Blue the Barred Owl was kept illegally as a young owlet, raised as a pet, confiscated by law enforcement, and brought to our rescue.
She imprinted on the wrong species while being held captive. This is irreversible in birds. Blue lost the ability to understand how to be an owl and would not be able to survive on her own.
Blue belongs to the federal government but is housed at the rescue with an important job serving as our educational ambassador. She has presented to thousands of people from all walks of life. In her free time, Blue enjoys a quiet spot in the sun with a few extra mice!

We hold state and federal permits for rehabilitation, education, and salvage purposes.
